A Critique on Discourse of Language Tests

چکیده
In the 21st century, with rise of popularity standardized or large-scale tests, their high-stakes have started to be apparent. High-stake tests are not new, but in most cases, current use as social practice tends shape individuals’ futures. Currently new trend for quality discussion aims critically evaluate through focus on functions, and power testing discourse, whereas traditionally what was included this only psychometric features. Regarding those practices, examining consequences own discourses is at heart perspective. Driven by tenet such a critical perspective, study first provide better understanding ‘discourse test’, then describe dimensions comprising discourse language tests. Finally, concludes some suggestions adapting perspective improve enhance quality.
